We are Dundee Faculty of Solicitors chosen charity

Thank you everyone for your spectacular fundraising!

Three months after a tiny premature baby was safely transported to a hospital closer to his family’s Dundee home by Lucy Air Ambulance for Children, friends and family have been raising funds to support our vital work – starting with a spectacular charity dinner hosted by a MasterChef semi-finalist.  Now Dundee Faculty of Solicitors have nominated us as their chosen charity.

Leo’s mission

Leo was born over 14 weeks prematurely on the 12th June 2017 – weighing just 790 grams – while his mum Nicola was hundreds of miles from home, in London.

Mum, Nicola was obviously fearful and lonely having such a tiny, frail baby so far from her family and friends but things changed when Lucy Air Ambulance for Children were able to help:-

When we were referred to Lucy Air Ambulance for Children we had never heard of them before but were pleased when Nicola made contact with us to offer their services. Lucy liaised with us, the transport team and our medical team to arrange the flight for 4th July. It was much better to know what date we would be travelling but it was going to be a stressful day!

The charity was in constant communication and talked us through everything that would happen. On the day I met the consultant and nurse who would be travelling with us and preparations were made. Leo was put back on a CPAP machine and cannulated to keep him stable for the journey and make it easy to perform any medical interventions that might be required. The transfer team were all very experienced and put us at ease.

Sixteen weeks later and after two readmissions to hospital, Leo is at home and doing well.Leo

Nicola and Leo’s dad Ross have embarked on a mission of their own – to raise funds for Lucy Air Ambulance starting with the help of MasterChef contestant and private chef Brodie Williams.

Brodie cooked and hosted a luxurious evening for guests, with £10 being donated to our cause from every ticket, and raised an incredibly generous total of over £700.

Brodie's main course, created in honour of Leo - It's venison loin, braised red cabbage, mashed potato, crispy shallots & red wine sauce.
