In memory of Emilia Schoennagel

It is with heavy hearts that we share news regarding our trustee, Patrick Schoennagel.  After suffering from a sudden unexpected medical emergency, his beloved daughter, Emilia, passed away on Saturday 24th September, aged just 5 years old.  After several days in St. Mary’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, she moved on from this physical earth peacefully in her parents’ arms.

Lia, as her family and friends lovingly called her, is survived by Patrick, his wife Melissa, her brother John, aged 8, and dozens of friends and family around the world.

Lia came into the world a little over a year after her parents’ worst tragedy up until that point – the stillbirth of her brother, Christopher. Since the moment she was safely born, she brought the world never-ending amounts of joy, laughter, and love. She was kind, empathetic, fun-loving, smart, adventurous, cheeky, artistic, fiercely determined, and had that sparkle in her eye – the one only those who truly love life and everything it has to offer have.

We will always remember Lia, she will always be at the heart of this charity and we will continue to save and change children’s lives in her name.
