Lucy AAC flies Isaiah to Southampton to receive neonatal care closer to family

Lucy AAC flew Isaiah over 220 miles from Wythenshawe Hospital near Manchester to Southampton Children’s Hospital to receive neonatal care closer to family. After Isaiah’s Lucy AAC transfer, his mum, Rebekah, wrote about their experiences. Please read their story below:

““Lucy Air Ambulance for Children brought Isaiah and I back to our family after he was born two months premature. I was studying my masters degree at the University of Manchester and only had a week to discover I was pregnant until Isaiah was born! He is a little miracle but he gave me no time to plan! We were a long way from family and I had no idea that going back home would even be an option while he has to stay in the hospital.”
“The neonatal nurses at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester were amazing, they let me know about Lucy AAC and got in contact. I was so surprised and excited knowing we would be able to be with our family. Not long after it came to the day of the flight! The transfer was incredible and the whole crew were super caring and supportive. The flight went really smooth and Isaiah did really well, he just needed a little bit of oxygen because of the altitude. We had time for a little bit of lunch and cup of tea on the flight, feeling very relaxed throughout the whole journey. I can’t wait to show Isaiah photos of his private plane journey at just 17 days old! I’m so thankful for Lucy AAC and everyone’s efforts to make the transfer happen as well as the work that’s done for other babies and children from all over!”
