Superhero Anais raises £1,350 for Lucy AAC despite event cancellation

Molly was born 16 weeks early whilst her family were on holiday in Cyprus. Exeter mum, Bethany, was with her husband Jan and two children, when she went into labour on the last day of their holiday.

Anais’s family, who have a strong connection to Lucy AAC, were determined to give Anais the opportunity to complete the challenge despite the official event cancellation. Anais and her family travelled down from Liverpool to London to complete the challenge which is a 4km route through the heart of London that passes iconic landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral and the Tate Modern.

On the day that Superhero Anais took on the challenge, she ran in 27°C heat and completed a total of 7km with her sidekick (Daddy) instead of the planned 4km. On top of this amazing achievement, Anais raised £1,350 for Lucy AAC by taking on this challenge!

We would like to say a massive thank you to Anais, Ashley and John for organising and taking part in this run. We really appreciate your determination to complete the challenge, despite the event cancellation.

Anais's story

Lucy AAC transferred Anais in 2015 from London to Liverpool after she was born early at 26 weeks gestation, over 220 miles from home. Since Anais’s Lucy AAC transfer, the Morrisey family have continued to fundraise for Lucy AAC and support our charity in anyway they can. From raffles to runs, to helping us collect at Christmas and being all around incredible ambassadors for our charity, we cannot thank them enough for their continued support!
