London Landmarks Half Marathon runners raise over £8,600

On Sunday 3rd April 2022, 18 runners took part in London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) and raised £8,656 for Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC).

Our runners were amongst 12,000 participants that took part in this unique half marathon that weaves between London’s most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Shard, the Tower of London and the London Eye. This event also aims to celebrate London’s grand, quirky and hidden heritage by showcasing hidden cultural gems such as Guy Fawkes’ house, Britain’s smallest police station, St Mary-Le-Bow Church and London’s oldest shop.

Runners were entertained as the pounded the pavements of London by choirs, drummers and live activations. Many celebrities ran alongside our Lucy AAC runners, including: Harry Judd, Abbie Quinnen, AJ Pritchard, Jess Impiazzi and Vassos Alexander.

Before the first runner’s reached the finish line, eight characters competed in the LLHM Mascot Dash, a 100M sprint past Horse Guards Parade to the finish line at Whitehall. Our mascot, Lucy the Pilot, came in a close second place to Vinny the Fox from the League Against Cruel Sport.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our runners that took part in the 2022 event, with a special thank you to the David Lloyd Club in Cheam where 13 runners of our runners work. Runners from David Lloyd Club raised funds through a Zumbathon, raffle and bake sale.

Together, our runners raised enough to fund an entire Lucy AAC transfer which will transform a child’s life. We cannot thank our runners enough for what they have done for a child and their family.
