Lucy AAC turns Christmas gift from Houlihan Lokey into an extraordinary moment for charity

Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC) used the opportunity of a gifted Christmas party, from their corporate partner Houlihan Lokey, to host many of Lucy AAC’s stakeholders and thank them for their contributions. This was the first time in the charity’s history that stakeholders from across all areas of the organisation were in the same room.

This incredible opportunity was gifted to Lucy AAC by investment bank, Houlihan Lokey. Houlihan Lokey has been partnered with Lucy AAC for four years and have raised over £200,000 for the charity. The investment bank continue to give generously to the charity, and most recently donated a Christmas party, including a prosecco reception, food and drink, to the Charity at the notable Biltmore Hotel in Mayfair. Lucy AAC was able to choose how best to use this gift.

Lucy AAC’s CEO, Charlotte Young, says:
‘It was a huge shock when Houlihan Lokey told us that they were gifting Lucy Air Ambulance for Children a Christmas party at the Biltmore Hotel in Mayfair, London. An opportunity like this would normally be out of our reach; we felt privileged and honoured to be chosen as the beneficiary of such an incredible occasion’.

After two challenging years of the pandemic, the charity wanted to use the gifted party to thank all of their stakeholders for their contributions to the charity – especially the funders and individual supporters who helped Lucy AAC survive this incredibly difficult period.

After extensive planning by the Lucy AAC Team, on Thursday 9th December, over 80 people attended Lucy Air Ambulance for Children’s ‘Jingle and Mingle’ event. For the first time in Lucy AAC’s history, they were able to have funders, transport teams, service providers, supporters and families all in one room to celebrate the work of Lucy AAC and thank them for their contributions.

Two of Lucy AAC’s service advisors and flight doctors, Dr Nandiran Ratnavel and Dr Lee Collier, spoke at the event. They explained their roles within the Charity and the extraordinary impact the small charity’s service has on both the NHS and families.

Guests helped raise £2,250 through the raffle, which featured some incredible prizes including an Apple Watch, Apple Airpods Max and a Fortnum & Mason hamper. Thank you to everyone who generously donated to our raffle; Capital Air Ambulance, Charles Homan, Gama Aviation, Global Events Solutions, IAS Medical, Walters Medical and Michael, Sally and the Accounts team at Houlihan Lokey.

The evening was made extra special by the entertainment. Alex Robertson wowed guests with close up magic and Steve Trowell’s band ensured the dancefloor was never empty.

The night was a huge success. This Christmas gift from Houlihan Lokey ensured the charity had the space and time to reconnect with key stakeholders – this would not have been possible without their support.

Lucy AAC’s CEO, Charlotte Young, says:

‘Our Jingle and Mingle event was a huge milestone for Lucy Air Ambulance for Children. It was incredibly special to have our funders, supporters, NHS Transport Teams, Service Providers, and our families all in one room. The atmosphere was uplifting and positive and everyone had a brilliant time. All those who attended cared about Lucy Air Ambulance for Children and left feeling even more inspired by what we do. We raised an incredible £2,250 on the night through our raffle; these funds will go towards our next transfer. It really was the most fabulous event – thank you Houlihan Lokey’.

Thank you to Houlihan Lokey for making this extraordinary moment happen for Lucy Air Ambulance for Children.
