Dr Ratnavel trained at St George’s Hospital Medical School London, qualifying in 1994. After house jobs he entered into Paediatrics with Senior House Officer rotations through Lewisham University & Guys Hospitals followed by 6 months of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit experience at Guys Hospital which also involved retrieval with the as then new South Thames Retrieval Service in 1998. He then went into Neonatology in the first year of training in an additional specialism training culminating in a final 6 months as a registrar with the London Neonatal Transfer Service. Following this he took up a consultant position in the same service which also included working attending weeks on the Neonatal Unit at The Royal London Hospital. Since then he has spent 3 years as Chair of the UK Neonatal Transport Group, 2 years as Chair of the Thames Perinatal Group and is currently Lead Clinician for Neonatology at The Royal London Hospital.
In addition to his role as Medical Director of the UK’s largest air ambulance service Capital Air Ambulance Dr Terry Martin is a Consultant and Associate Clinical Professor in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.
Dr Martin started his career as a Royal Air Force doctor, qualified as a helicopter pilot and has been involved in the organisation, practice, research and teaching of civilian and military aeromedical transport since 1983. Previous roles include Chief Medical Officer at Europ Assistance, Trauma Registrar with the London Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, Senior Medical Officer at the former RAF Institute of Aviation Medicine and Locum Director of the Medical Service of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
Dr Martin is an examiner for the Diploma of Retrieval and Transport Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has similar links with other universities around the world.
Carol was until recently the Nurse Consultant for Neonatal Transport for North West, Cheshire and Merseyside and has over 37 years’ neonatal nursing experience. For 13 years she clinically led and managed the region’s dedicated Neonatal Transport Service.
Carol has now left the NHS to work as an independent Neonatal Nurse Consultant.
Laura is an experienced multilingual Interim HR Executive and Project Manager, in both the Private and Public Sectors and an expert Trade Union negotiator with successes in renegotiation of Union Agreements, pay negotiations, alignment of previous acquisitions/contracts, resolution of strike application and agreement.
Laura Demonstrates the business acumen to translate strategy into practical best in class HR initiatives, whilst offering gravitas and influencing skills to operate confidently and challenge at board level.
Stephanie is a commercial solicitor with over 25 years experience from small claims through to the Court of Appeal. Having worked in both private practice and in house, she combines a variety of legal knowledge as well as a good understanding of how businesses really work.
